English around the school
Poetry at Cinnamon Brow
At Cinnamon Brow we have poetry built into our curriculum, and different texts available for the children to take home or read in school.
Annually we take part in National Poetry week having visitors to school and writing our own poems for all to enjoy.
Reading Buddies
We have volunteers from our Year 5 & Year 6 classes that take time out of their lunches to read with children in Key Stage One.
They share stories and ask questions about the books that we are reading. This builds up the children's confidence with words and builds the social skills of the children.
Reading Visitors
Over the years we have been very lucky to have a number of visitors come into school and read with the children.
World book day provides a great opportunity for visitors to come in and share a story.
We have also had Knowsley Safari Park come in and share animal adventures with our youngest children in EYFS.
