Music Intent Statement

At Cinnamon Brow, music is important to us. We believe it helps to increase creativity, confidence and self-esteem, as well as contributing to the overall well-being of our children. Musicality begins with our youngest children and serves as a wonderful tool in which to help us explore, learn and create.

Our curriculum aims to create a love of music through listening, appraising, performing and composing within different musical genres.  We see music as an inclusive language which can be accessed by all, helping to develop each child's creativity, confidence and self-esteem.   We teach our music curriculum over a two year rolling cycle from key stage one upwards and a yearly pattern within the Early Years, allowing for the progression and development of each individual child's musicality and skills.

Look at what we have been learning in music!

And how about a couple of new ones?

  • Run, rabbit, run.... was written in 1939 and was a popular war time song.

If your first name has a hyphen in it, just use the first initial.
